My White Cane - My Freedom

Every year on October 15, we celebrate White Cane Day, a day that honors the spirit, courage, and independence of people with visual impairments. It reminds the world that mobility is not a privilege but a right, and that inclusion begins with how societies allow everyone to move freely.
“The white cane is not just a stick; it is a symbol of freedom, confidence, and dignity.”
From the moment I first learned to trust the white cane, my life opened up. It allows me to travel across bustling cities, board trains, detect obstacles, and navigate independently.
Let us walk together toward an inclusive world where no one feels hesitant to carry a cane, and where our cities and transit systems are designed for all people.
